Earlier this week, Intel® Asia hosted a invitational gaming showdown pitting gamers and media representative alike for the best in Malaysia to compete with the rest of Asia in a gaming league out of 3 games. The winners of the gaming league will get to compete in the grand finals, The EA Experience @ The Peak, Hong Kong

The EA Experience

A short summary of what the gaming showdown is all about:
- It's a gaming league between gamers and media representative alike from Thailand, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong
- Top 3 players from all of the nations get to compete each other in the grand finals in Hong Kong to walk away with a spanking hot performance gaming PC loaded with Intel Core 2 Extreme processor. 1st runner-up walks home with Creative Gigaworks S750 multimedia speaker system.
- Players will compete in 3 set of games which is Crysis, FIFA 2008 and Need For Speed: Prostreet.



By the end of the day Rinie "[W|nDs] si_jali" Ramli takes home the overall title being champion in Malaysia netting 201 points which will be submitted and compete with the rest of Asia. Rinie also brings back the 3 games being competed at that day and a spanking trophy.



As for the best media gamer, the title goes to Wern Shern from Lowyat.NET and he also brings back an extra thumbdrive which all of the participants get. :P

Lyn FIFA League season 16/17 review

With WCG sandwitched between the 2 league seasons, it is only fair that the league reports are given a break to allow Spotgamers to give the WCG the recognition it deserves. Having said that, many of the league players performed admirably in WCG.

In Singapore, Xtr3me3 retained his title, while baumelles and [WlnDs.ya]Hang hung on to 3rd and 4th place respectively. On the Malaysia scene, Vin and loonatic made it to the final, while youqi(!) clinched 4th. All players were active in the Lyn Fifa league, which shows how much you can improve with regular participation.

Back to the league review, han won his 1st league title in season 16, with falcon finishing 2nd and benaldo snatching 3rd place ahead of youqi. benaldo ended that season with a staggering 83 goals to finish as top scorer.

In season 17, youqi bulldozed his way to the top, albiet playing four games more than closest challengers falcon and han. Again, benaldo finished as top scorer, with a barrier breaking 93 goals from 28 matches. Also, it should be noted that falcon won his 1000(one thousand)th lyn Fifa League game recently, and has finished in the top 2 for the last 3 seasons. A true model of consistency.

The start of ACSL season 3.

For those who don't already know what The ACSL is, ACSL stands for Asian CS:Source League. 7th of August 2008 marks the release of the ACSL season 3 schedule. The schedule can be obtained here
Divided into 3 divisions, it looks like this season's ACSL would prove to be yet another ass-kickin' season as we have numerous strong teams and a few underdogs just aching to show us what they can do.
The first match kicks-off at on Monday, 11th of August

Falcon Winner of FIFA league Season 15!

Congratulations to Falcon who won his 1st Lyn FIFA 08 League. The margin of victory was just down to goal difference, with Falcon boasting a superior goal difference to benaldo's. Han finished 1 point behind the 2 leaders.

League veteran Xpert-hero propped the 13-man league, while Lapala finished a place higher than him thanks goal difference again. Newbie |l0-u-i3| managed 11th place and 4 wins, not bad for a new player.

The busy schedule of Si_jali and ahloon made it tough for them to make an assault on the top spot, as both players scored impressive results each time they played. Also, it is worth mentioning that Si_jali ended the season unbeaten. Who knows what might have been...

FIFA League Mid Season Review

As usual Baumelles made a storming start to the season, holding the top spot for a couple of days. He was then toppled by the new leader Benaldo, who won almost 75 percent of his games. The return of Loonatic saw him climb back to a respectable 3rd with some trashing scores.

Malaysia's no1 player, Si_jali made a return to the Fifa League. He told Spotgamers that he was rusty and needed some match practice. 5 wins out of 8 and an unbeaten record shows he is very much in the business, rest of Malaysia beware. The phoenix might make another comeback.

In an extraordinary match, Falcon of clan tornado drew 5-5 with han. Falcon made it 5-4 in his favour in the 90th minute thx to a xavi goal. But han salvaged a point with a Ronaldinho shot before the referee managed to blow for full time.

The league is now entering its 2nd half, and up to 4 active players have yet to taste a win. While 2 players went AWOL after registering. It looks like every season there is always players who never learn. With WCG coming up, the league is a good place to practice competitively with good players. So do have fun in the league and enjoy yourself.

FIFA League: Baumelles Bag Maiden Title For Season 14

Congratulations to Baumelles who won his 1st Lyn FIFA League. He achieved it by the skin of his teeth, pipping Xtreme3 to the top spot by a measly 2 points. And for good measure, Baumelles had the clean sheet award for minding the tidiest defence of the league. League Moderator Youqi completed the top 3.

Down at the bottom, Huruhara had a tough time, propping the table with 3 pts. Henry Lee fared slightly better, he enjoyed 1 win this season. League veteran Lapala finished 5 pts ahead of Henry Lee.

FIFA League: MID Season Review

Firstly, congratulations to the LYN Fifa League defending champion A13x for winning Cel games 2008. He has done the league proud by winning such a prestigious honour.

The top spot of the league is now up for grabs as han slipped to his 10th defeat. He has played almost all his games, and anyone who can produce a run of great results will see him crowned the Winner of this league for this season. The likes of Xtreme3, Youqi and Baumelles all have a realistic chance of bagging the league this season.

The season is close to an end, but a staggering 11(eleven) players have yet to complete at least half of their games. The Spotgamers team hope that they can find some time from their hectic schedule to complete their season to avoid a 1 season ban.

Down at the bottom, Mr Mad, Denon, and Huruhara are still awaiting their 1st win of the season. Maybe they should just play each other! While the most amazing result of the week was xtr3me3's spectacular 6-1 win over seasoned campaigner benaldo.

Fifa League Season 14 1st Review

The 14th season of the Fifa 08 started last Saturday. With Mr Ballack sweeping all the medals last season, this is a chance for other players to redeem themselves and get a few virtual medals in their back pockets.

As usual, Falcon and Baumelles made storming starts into the season, leaving the chasing pack a mountain to climb. Baumelles leads the table with a whopping 48 pts, with Falcon in hot pursuit at 44. The likes of Xtreme and Slasher still have a realistic chance of toppling the top 2.

Down at the bottom, only 5 players have yet to register a single point, though some of them have only played a couple of games while Mr. Kenne-di have yet to kick a ball this season. May the cops arrest him fast. Denon had a miserable time, he shipped in 8 defeats and is still awaiting his 1st point.

This season has lesser players than last season, due to many of them being banned for failing to complete half their games in the previous season. While the defending Champion will not defend his crown as he is off to compete in the prestigious Cel Games.

FIFA League : Slasher Slash The Top Spot, Xtreme Losing Streak

For the first time in the history, LYN FIFA LEAGUE broke their own record by having the most players in the league in one season. A total of 31 players registered for season#13 which shows that the FIFA community in Malaysia is growing day after day, this is a good sign for the gaming community as a whole!


On the league table itself, Slasher seems to hold the top spot now with 70 points along with Falcon with slasher leading on goal difference. Points may change though as falcon played 32 games and slasher 27 with 5 more games in hand. It may be a tight fight for the top spot as there are many players that are capable of catching up with the top 2, noticingly Loonatic and Xtreme.


On the other hand, defending champion Xtreme seems to lost some grip on his game recently facing a 2 straight defeats to Mr Mad by 2-1 and a rather surprising score to Slasher which is 5-0. Will Xtreme manage to regain his confidence and push all the way to the top of the table?Will slasher holds on to the top spot??

FIFA League: Falcon Unbeaten Streak Ends, Lapala Say Thanks To Bigboss

Today matches saw that current top of the league [ToRn@do]Falcon travel to Baumelles home stadium. Earlier before Baumelles manage to get a draw at Falcon homeground. But this time the table turns when Baumelles manage to beat Falcon with a close score of 2-1 thus ended Falcon 17 game unbeaten streak. Despite the loss, Falcon still remain at the top of table with point different from current no. 2 Baumelles by 3 points and with 10 games in hand. It is almost unlikely that Baumelles will be able to catch up with Falcon.


On another news, [W|nDs.YA]Bigboss ended his wait to get a win when he travel to yhwong homeground and win a precious away game with a close score 3-2. yhwong told Spotgamers that he couldnt believe he lost the game because Bigboss was using FC Schalke instead of the favourite team Barcelona.


Despite the victory, the person who enjoy the most today is Lapala when he manage to end his 13 game losing streak thanks to Bigboss. Lapala manage to stop Bigboss winning mood when he manage to get a draw 2-2 at Bigboss homeground. But at the end of the day, it was Lapala who were smiling when he beat Bigboss 1-0 when the game was played at Lapala homeground. So everyone should be careful when traveling to Lapala fortress.


At the moment, the only player that havent suffered any defeat is Benaldo. But things could've change since he just played 2 games at the moment. Nakata101 and denon still remains at the bottom searching their 1st league game win this season.

FIFA League: Baumelles Lead But Falcon Took Over

It looks like LYN FIFA League starting to get the hype when astonishingly 26 players have registered for this season. This could be a record itself for the league.


Early in the season, Baumelles took the 1st spot by winning 10 games, draw 6 and lost 6. But his 1st spot looks to be only temporary when [ToRn@do]Falcon just won 13 games tonite and with a lot of games in hand and no lose yet. Both of them have played 1 match together which ended in a draw. Falcon have yet travel to Baumelles home stadium for his away match. Will Baumelles stop Falcon there?


Another interesting news, last season champion [W|nDs]Xtreme lost his 1st home league game to current runner up Baumelles. But he bounce back from the defeat by having 3 winning streak but eventually being stop in a draw from his younger colleague [W|nDs] Bigboss. Last season runner up [W|nDs]Loonatic also had the same moment when he lost both home and away game to [ToRn@do]Falcon. Eventually he manage to comeback from his losing streak by having 2 winning streak as well.


At the moment, it looks like lapala, Nakata101 and denon having a hard time with denon the most losing streak 11. Will they bounce back and grab a win to stop their losing streak? Another player who havent taste victory yet is [W|nDs.YA]Bigboss.
