And The Most Creative Profile is..

After a gruelsome battle between the gamers to emerge as the most creative profile of all, we have decided instead of choosing one, we choose the top 3 most creative profile.

And here is the results!

At No.3....

Its Mr. Billy Chin Sie Boon!

With his very simple but yet interesting of arranging the information, he just prove how good it is to be simple.

And the 1st runner up is...

Mr. Wang Heng Kwang!

Using the Crysis background, it fit so well with the way he presented himself as a hardcore paintballer and FPS game. But im not so sure if that helmet is for paintball or motorcross.. or even GRID or MSR Sim Car racing game.

Nevertheless it was a nice combination overall.

Andddd.. the champion for the most creative profile is....

Mr. Choong You Qi!!!
Click Here To See His Design

Youqi just manage to show off his pro-ness in programming and hosted his own profile at his own domain. He put a lot of info including with a trivia with its own but still manage to keep it simple and tidy. Being one of the founder of Malaysia FIFA League, it is no surprise why he can make it look so easy and just put him above everyone else.

So Mr You Qi has just won himself an Orange Box. But wait! We have surprise for the rest as well... though Wang and Billy didnt win.. but because we appreciate their effort in creating nice profile.. we gonna give each of them.. an Orange Box as well!

Congratz to all of them. And thanks for supporting our cause to bring exposure to our local gamers~ ^^

Intel Insider: Inside Matters!

Earlier this month, Spotgamers were invited to joined up Intel Insider Party during their new office opening ceremony.

So what is Intel Insider?

1. Selected bloggers who are passionate about the latest in technology

2. They are the privileged few who will have access to and info on Intel’s latest technological discoveries and launches.

During the party, Intel decided to make it more interesting; they are giving away free One unit Intel Atom powered netbook through "Inside Matters" Contest.

“INSIDE MATTERS” Contest

1. Publish blog posts based on the theme “Inside Matters”
2. Stories and articles to be related to day-to-day experiences such as food, dating, books, movies etc..
3. Judging criteria (winners determined by Intel)
-Creativity (can include video, photos etc)
-Linkage to Intel if possible
-Interaction with readers
4. Prize: One unit Intel Atom powered netbook!
5. When: April 1 – May 1, 2009 (1 month)

So since the due date is getting near, obviously we have to post up something with the theme "Inside Matters". We still have few other ideas but for start we shall produce our 1st sketch title "Last Min"

Phone Ringing: Tuut... Tuut...

Rinie: Hello, this is Rinie ICT Solution.

Partner: Hey Rinie, we just seal the deal with *ABC Company! (not a real company). I need you to create the paperwork for our agreement, invoice samples and client registration form. Oh and also dont forget to email together with T&C form and etc etc. Sent it to my email by 9pm.

Rinie: Dude, now is 8.30pm. Its past the office hours. I shouldnt be here in the 1st place. Cant we just send it tomorrow morning?

Partner: Cant. We have to seal everything by tonite so that we can receive the cheque in this month. Everything is in their budget and if next month they had to do another meeting again and its gonna take time. So better dont waste time flirting with me on the phone and start working! Sayonara~ *Phone Conversation End*

Rinie: Eh, suka hati mak bapak say im flirting with her. Sigh, guess i have no choice.. the only thing i can depend now is myself and...

Rinie: Intel Core 2 Duo!!! Show me what you got!

Narrator: So with Rinie supa dupa freak speed in typing and Intel Core 2 Duo, it seems the partnership form between them was almost like Batman & Robin, Clark Kent & Louis Lane, Johan & Zizan, unstoppable! Rinie manage to finish everything by 9.10pm. It was a bit late but nevertheless it impressed the client and they manage to seal a better deal; with an increase sales cheque for sure.

Rinie: Sooo... since i've done my part, can we go out for a date now?

Partner: Err.. hello? hello? *voice breaking up* i cant hear you. My battery is running low. TTYL. C ya!

Rinie: ... sigh. At least i have you, Intel. At least you never dissapoint me. So wanna go Starbucks to cuci mata?

This is just one of our ideas. We will have more ideas coming up provided that we have enough time to produce any.

So remember, no matter who you are, inside matters!

PES 2010 Announced

It looks like Konami is now one step ahead of their football rival, EA Sports when they announced Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 last week.

According to PES Production, based on source from IGN.com, they are setting out to make this the most realistic football simulation available, with player feedback a key part of the process.

"We have been monitoring feedback and comments on the progression of the PES series for some time now, and PES 2010 will see us implementing a great deal of the ideas players have been requesting," said Naoya Hatsumi, Producer for PES Productions at Konami Digital Entertainment Japan.

"We aim to make PES 2010 a more user-friendly, immediate experience that places the emphasis on getting straight into the gameplay for which the series is famed. PES 2010 will look better, will play better, and will recreate real football as closely as the current hardware will allow."

The team has expanded for development of PES 2010, with the creation of a number of dedicated departments focused on different aspects of the game, such as online. The key additions/changes to the game are:

  • Gameplay: "PES 2010 focuses on enhancing the excitement of matches between players, making for a truly challenging experience that will constantly test the player. Intuitive zonal defending will cover spaces and players need to look constantly for new ways to attack. PES 2010 focuses on being a real football simulation, as it requires both strategic play and quick reactions, as in real life. In addition to key out-field elements, goalkeepers are more versatile and with abilities matching those of modern shot-stoppers. The game's referees have also been reworked, with smarter AI elements allowing them to make more balanced calls during matches."
  • Improved Visuals: "PES 2010 has undergone a major visual revamp, with its celebrated player likenesses and animations now even closer to those of real-life players – including live player expressions to be depicted with an improved lighting system which differentiates between various conditions! Stadium detail is also massively improved, with the grass and other in-stadium elements finely depicted."
  • All-new Animations and Moves: "Animations now dovetail into each other seamlessly, with dribbling and shots on goals worked into dribbling animations. More individual skills are also on show, including new flicks and tricks that have a definite showing on the way a game flows. Several elements have been completely reworked, with the dribbling, turning and kicking animations greatly enhanced, while there is a noticeable change in pace when a player passes a ball from a standing position than from within a run."
  • Enhanced Master League: "Master League has been thoroughly renewed with the enhancement of managerial aspects, which enables users to enjoy managing a team for a longer career lifespan. Seen by many as a key contributor to the series' success, the Master League elements in PES 2010 have been bolstered by far-ranging and vital new additions, dedicated to enriching the mode."
  • AI: "The Tokyo team has worked to improve the AI of the game, with Teamvision 2.0 implemented. Midfielders and defenders now work together to cover open space and close down attacks, meaning that cover can be provided for lower-ranked defenders. This also has the additional effect of removing soft goals, thus returning PES 2010 to its simulation roots. In terms of attacking, players can also now move several players (at) once, sending them into different areas, opening up more goal-scoring possibilities than ever before. As such, PES 2010 necessitates a new level of control from the player. Strategic thinking is as important as quick passing, but the new system greatly opens the way the player oversees control of the team. In free kick scenarios, for instance, players can now instigate the runs of the players awaiting the ball in the penalty area."
  • Individual Play Characteristics: "In previous PES games, the team formation has determined the movements of the players. PES 2010 introduces a new system wherein the individual attacking and defending nature of the players is integral to the way they play. Each player enjoys unique AI tied into their best abilities, and is reflected in the actions of their team mates – i.e. if a player who is known to be a good crosser of the ball is in possession, more players will flood the penalty area to receive it. Similarly, if a player is known to be good with close control, defenders will work to cover their stronger side, while lone strikers will be automatically supported by midfielders on receipt of the ball."
  • Strategy Use: "A new power gauge system allows users to balance their strategy in a quick, but wide-ranging way before a match. Every element – pass frequency, movement, the line of defence, width of play, or the position of the front line – can be altered to match those of a favoured club: Juventus Turin are a dangerous side on the counter-attack, for instance, while FC Barcelona use width in their attack. These formulations can be altered at any point, too, with Home and Away matches forcing different circumstances on the user, as does the rigours of a Master League season."
  • Enhanced Online: "A new dedicated section of the Tokyo team is committed to improving the online side of PES 2010. More downloadable content is also planned. Konami has supported PES 2009 with the release of new licensed teams, transfer updates, etc, and this support will grow for PES 2010. Team and content updates are planned throughout the game's lifespan. These will make the game even more bespoke to the player's match day needs."
  • Match-Day Atmosphere: "Crowd reactions to the on-field action are now more varied, with all new chants and cheers. The subtle difference between Home and Away matches will be reproduced, and the crowd will react spontaneously to specific situations in a game, showing their disdain or pleasure as fouls are committed and goals scored. Likewise, the commentary has been altered to offer a fresher, more concise overview of the game."
  • Penalties: "An all-new system has been implemented, offering greater control, placing and accuracy."
  • Exclusive Europa League License: "Konami has strengthened its relationship with UEFA and can announce it has secured the exclusive video game rights for the Europa League Licence (formerly known as the UEFA Cup). In addition Konami will be enhancing and developing the use of the UEFA Champions League within PES 2010 to make even better use of the best club football competition in the world.
It is said that the game would be released worldwide on 23 October 2009. However, we have to wait for any confirmation from Play Interactive which is the official distributor for Konami games in Malaysia.

Maybe another Pre-Launch Kick Off perhaps. :P

Anyway, stay tuned for the updates on the development for PES 2010 as we are bringing you the latest news and updates, only on Spotgamers - Eyes on Gamers

Au revoir! xD

WCG Official List Of Game Titles Announced!

Finally, after a long wait, WCG has announced another seven additional game titles, in addition to the first 5 game titles which were announced on January 2009.

However, the selection proved to be among the most shocking ones as Need For Speed and Command & Conquer series are not on the list.

FIFA 09 survives the major reshuffle of the official game titles as the game is selected for the ninth year in the row.

As the replacement for NFS, Trackmania Nations are chosen to replace NFS as the official game title for Racing Games. This would made up the disappointment after the announcement of the closure of ESWC organizers, Games Services last week.

Red Stone was selected again for the second year as the official game title for MMORPG.

Carom3D completes the list for official game titles for PC and XBox games, as the game is selected for the third year in the row.

WCG '09 also witnessing the return of Mobile Game category where two games are selected which are the popular racing game, Asphalt 4 and Wise Star 2 which is the puzzle game, as far as we know from WCG.

WCG also announces that Dungeon & Fighter, an MMORPG-based game will be featured as Promotional Game Title for WCG 2009.

With the announcement settles the riddle of WCG 2009, let's list out all official game titles for WCG 2009
  • Counter Strike 1.6 (PC)
  • Starcraft: Brood War (PC)
  • Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne (PC)
  • FIFA 09 (PC)
  • TrackMania Nations Forever (PC)
  • Red Stone (PC)
  • Carom 3D (PC)
  • Guitar Hero: World Tour (Xbox 360)
  • Virtua Fighter 5 (Xbox 360)
  • Asphalt 4 (Mobile)
  • Wise Star 2 (Mobile)
  • Dungeon & Fighter (Promotional Game Title: MMORPG)

It's sad to see Vic Viper could not have the chance to defend his title on WCG Malaysia with the removal of C&C from official game titles. Records from ESWC 2008 shows that Luige would stand a chance to claim his stake again as Trackmania champion but can M1-Heaven overcome the odds for being the master of racing?

Anyway, stay tuned for more updates as we wait for any official announcement from the national organizers of WCG to announce the date of WCG Malaysia. We would hope another WCG Kick-Off would be in place before the gaming season starts.

Au revoir! xD

Cyberfusion 2009: The Overview

What more can I say? Cyberfusion 2009 is now officially the longest running LAN Party in the world! We have 274 participants with 40 hours, we were +71 more participants and +4 hours than the previous record set by nVision in 2008.

Everything was going fine through out the event, with minor hiccups such as people torrenting and downloading which cause the line to be unstable. There were 14 people being disqualified for most of the reason was because taking too long breaks. Even 1 min late is not allowed. Thats how strict the rules enforced.

The foods, well it was just okay. Not really much to be excited about. Only get to eat KFC/Pizza Hut after all is over.

Everyone was okay through out the event right until we reach 30 hours. Almost everyone having difficulty to stay up. Some even were caught napping while playing. The most epic was this pics:

Now Malaysia are World Champions!!!

4.00 P.M

Finally, the sweat, hunger and tears paid off. Malaysian gamers have prove themselves that we are the best with the NEW WORLD RECORD FOR THE LONGEST LAN PARTY with the duration of 40 HOURS!!! MALAYSIA BOLEH!!! :D

2.00 P.M

The 38 hours mark has been passed by. Now, let's make it to 40 hours :)

1.45 P.M

Another twist happened in the record-breaking attempt, Cyberfusion has spoken, to make the records even legendary for making it to 40 HOURS!

This means the attempt would end at 4.00 p.m instead of 2.00 pm. Sounds another Malaysian job for us :)

Anyway, the theme song for Cyber Fusion is "My Satisfaction" :P

12.30 P.M

At exactly 12.00 P.M, after 36 hrs Cyberfusion has just break the longest running LAN Party in the world! Now we are going to set for the new world record for the LAN Party. So stay tune as we keep you inform of the progress.

6.30 a.m

With the timer passing 30 hours mark, Linkinstreet is more than happy to provide live feed about the moment of triumph when Malaysia will be officially breaking Nvision 2008's record.

Here's the link for the convinience: http://wakarimasenlol.com/siberfusen/cf-live-stream

Anyway, a few moments ago, Jali and his islands is dancing to the tune of Robbie Williams' Rock DJ. Maybe they have gone crazy due to not sleeping for more than 36 hours. :P

2.00 a.m - Official Count: 273

We are another half day away from 2.00 p.m where Cyber Fusion will be making a history in Guinness World Records!

Anyway, the results from the recently concluded GRiD mini tournament has been announced. bulibuli fends off FoRZa's challenge to be the winner for the tournament.

Two Spotgamers writers shared the almost similar fate today.

As for si_jali, it's looks like a tradition that he will be always being hit by cars during the tournament, however he managed to be not the last racer to arrive.

As for TPK, it proves to be the miserable day for him as he missed three tournaments due to compatability issues with Windows 7.

Meanwhile, we haven't received any results about Left 4 Dead and Counter Strike 1.6 Mini tournament that also concluded yesterday. There are more tournaments to come as announcements will be made by the organizers. Stay tuned ;)

Sunday, 12 April 2009, 12.30 a.m

We have just passed the 24 hour mark and it will be another 12 gruelling hours before we match Nvision's record and another 14 hours to be an officially new Guinness World Records.

The stakes are much higher this time with DotA and GRiD tournament is under way and TF 2 to come later.

Saturday, 11 April 2009, 9.00PM

I hate to give bad news but its my job here to let you guys know the recent updates. Up till tonite, a total of 17 people has been disqualified for not being at their stations, taking a very long break time, never check in after coming into the gaming are and many numerous other reason. Although i feel it is not entirely the participants fault but this is no time to point fingers but instead a time where understanding and unity can be forge to prove that Malaysia is the best country in the world.

Currently, we have a total of 274 participants left to break the record. If we go below 250, our record will gone like the wind and all the effort will be going down the drain.

So please guys do take it seriously. This is not a play-play matter. It involves many aspect, not just gaming but business and public and international perception to our country. This in the end can harm the future of Malaysia.

7.00PM

Guess whats our lunch? It was nasi bungkus with chicken and telur masin. Thiss is really a Malaysian style LAN Party.

Well not much has been going on recently. We have shoutcaster from Gamestah, Krew ERA Avanza and Red Bull girls distributing drinks to our fellow participants. There were also some tournament match being display on the big screen.

So far all of the partipants really looks like they "missed" sleeping. It wont surprise me if after all this end we might sleep for 2 days to cover up all the lost time.

And i still hope to have KFC/Pizza Hut dinner :(

2.00PM Lunch is now being distributed though they have delayed it for more than an hour. Till now we havent see our free KFC/Pizza Hut Meal...

The hall is full will spectators and visitors going around watching us breaking the world record. Feel like an instant celebrity~

Oh and everyone started to feel "bored" and i saw stars on top of my head XD

10.00AM To date, unfortunately a total of 10 gamers has been disqualified. The recent group was disqualified for not checking in after they went out, leaving a question blank how long they have taken their rest.

So far our breakfast was just hot dog.... hot dog for breakfast.. this would be my 1st...

4.30 AM For the 1st time ever, more than 300 people has witness Si_Jali in anger. It was known by the management that someone is torrenting. How they know it? Coz your computer is connected to their server silly. It was because of torrenting internet went down, online games cant connect and LAN games became laggy.

So if you love your country, stop that torrenting before you will be known as traitor.

2.30AM Its sad to report that 6 gamers were disqualified for not being at their own place during the Guinness Judicator doing his run through. From a total of 291 participants now left 285. Everyone has been reminded to be very careful not to try funny stuff.

They are having problems with the internet connection due to router overload. So its gonna be hard for me to keep it updated but i'll try my best time to time.

The good thing is that we can order Burger Ramly now! They are preparing my burger ayam special.. yummy!

Oh and i just lost my voice.

12AM:
And now its officially start!! The entire hall is suffering from excessive shuffle musics. Its really a partayyy~

We will update hour to hour and hopefully the line is good enough to upload some pics for our readers ^^

ESWC No More?

We have been focus more on local news this few weeks but now here are some worlds news to share with everyone.

We receive sad news regarding renowned world tournament Electronic Sports World Cup better known as ESWC. It seems the current recession has taken another victim into the grave.

Games-Services SA ceases all activities. Its liquidation has been pronounced by the Commercial Court of Paris March 30, 2009. In consequence, all the employees and managers have been relieved from their duties and laid off April 2nd, by the adjudication. The process of liquidation, which is starting this week, will notably organize the potential trade-in or resale of the company’s assets including the Electronic Sports World Cup and Overgame. -quote Games-Services-

The question now is, will another company come up and step forward to take the initiative to revive ESWC? Only time will tell.
