Reasons the Games Industry :How It's Making Them Rich

Video games, we all like them, some of us love them, and there are even some of us who might consider consuming them with a side of fava beans and nice Chianti. My point is that millions of dollars, uncountable amounts of hours and multiple child neglect lawsuits go into making the games we play and enjoy; but where oh where can we find the time to snuggle up with our digital brides? How can we be expected to indulge our own selfish fantasies of shooting someone in the face at pointe blank range while balancing the shaky ship of wives, girlfriends, work, or running from the law because of that one thing you did to that one guy awhile back that you'd rather not bring up in conversation?!


This my friends is where they get us. The likes of Activision, EA and even PixelJunk have tied an entertainment noose around or necks and we will hang... from controller cords anyway. Reason? You just can't find the time..The Responsible Party(s) Activision, Infinity Ward, EA, PixelJunk, ALL OF THEM! How They're Getting Rich Out of Hating the Shit Out of You. So it's a Thursday night, you just got paid and are heading over to Spotgamers to read up a couple of latest games review to spend the best Ringgit you ever have. So you have done reading such awesome reviews and one of the jaw dropping trailers. This is it.

There it is, the game you've been tirelessly waiting for all this time, the game you defended in the comments day in and day out through delays, fanboy trickery, the works. You slowly and confidently move to the counter, whip out your wallet and swipe the plastic... There's only one thing left to do... Get your ass back home and play the game non stop. You didn't wash your work shirts last night did you? You haven't cleaned the aquarium have you? You never called your mother did you? Have you asked your wife how her day was yet? Why Does This Mean They Hate Me? Time to play the games we so diligently work for, defend and look forward to is about as sacred as keeping that Zelda NES cartridge in mint condition. But it doesn't alleviate our everyday obligations. You tell yourself "they want me to play and be happy!" and to an extent this is true. THEY want you to play the Rm140 game you've purchased, THEY want you to enjoy it, THEY want you to recommend it to your friends because you loved it so much. But... THEY will get you.

Their weapon of choice? A d d O n C o n t e n t Map pack #4,753 was just released and now, with the time you do have, you can't play your beloved game with your friends. Unless! you shell out another Rm9.99 that is. Instantly a bead of sweat forms on your brow, what to do?!?!?!? Skip dinner for the ability to do what has been promised over and over by the console maker?!?!?! Stand your ground and play with a community the likes of which you have never met?!?!?!? Seriously? Damn those guys.
