SMM Grand National Dota Tournament - Day 3 - FtD CHINA WINS SGNDT 2009!

G'day guys and welcome to the final day of SMM Grand National DotA Tournament 2009. We are now in the Grand Finals in the final game between CommeDieu and FtD after FtD won the first game, dragging CommeDieu to the loser bracket.

4:25 PM: GG! FtD wins SMM Grand National DotA Tournament 2009! What a comeback! What a match and what a stunning performance by FtD!

4:20 PM: FtD is pushing through the way. It looks like FtD would be capping it off with style!

3:50 PM: CommeDieu gets the first blood when Tinker killed Visage. So much for refunding the trip for a good Chinese Samaritan :D

3:45 PM: The second match is underway and it's winner takes all. FtD becomes Sentinel and cD becomes the Scourge. Here's the bans and picks for this match:-

3:25 PM: It's GG from CommeDieu! FtD takes the game to drag the Grand Finals into a winner-takes-all affair. This game would decide which team would be the champion of SMM Grand National DotA Tournament 2009.

3:22 PM: FtD raps through the middle tower and the score goes to FtD's favor 23-16

3:12 PM: 30 minutes. FtD just pawned Roshan and got themselves Aegis. It looks like FtD is pushing through now, while cD is trying their best to defend the score.

3:02 PM: 20 minutes. cD takes the lead with the score of 12-9. It looks like all-even so far

2:52 PM: 10 minutes. FtD is leading with 8-5 with FtD as Scourge and cD as Sentinels.

2:35 PM: Here we are. The Grand Final match has gone underway between CommeDieu and FtD in best of 3 matches with 1-0 advantage to cD. If cD wins this, they are the new DotA World Champions for 2009

2:05 PM: EHOME is DETHRONED! EHOME have to be satisfied with 3rd placing, which means a new champion will be crowned, but the challenge trophy will be once again making its way to China.

Which team would seal the glory? CommeDieu who finally make it to SMM last week, or FtD who makes all the way from the loser bracket?


1:34 PM: EHOME is defending their title against FtD on the main stage now. If they lose, we will have a new SGNDT champion. Could EHOME make it two in a row?

1:13 PM: Once again, China proves again that they are still the country to beat after Malaysia's last hope, INC.Excello falls down to FtD. It's a clean sweep podium for China, and Malaysia have to be thankful with 4th and 5th placing by INC.Excello and Kingsurf.

INC.Excello and Kingsurf will be on the running for Best DotA Clan Of The Year when 2nd SpotGamers Award returns soon!

12:52 PM: OH LOL. Kingsurf got 5th place, thanks to their win in a very interesting "match". KS and CH didn't want to play and agree to decide the winner in a roll in game. KS got the dice luck as they got 80 and CH got 66.

So much for the entertainment. Can we see the replay later? :P

11:58 AM: Malaysia's hope to stop China's domination lies on the hands of InC.Excello after Kingsurf bows down to FtD after a long 75 minutes battle.

Kingsurf should have sealing the victory after the hour, but the gamble backfires as FtD's Lightning Revanant counter pawns and leads FtD to the next round against Malaysia's sole hope, InC.Excello

9:45 AM: FtD will take on Kingsurf on the main stage very soon. While the rest would be played on the arena.

9:30 AM: AEON.SG would be playing against StarsBoba for 7th & 8th placing while InC.Excello takes on CityHunter. Kingsurf takes on FtD while CommeDieu plays against EHOME for the Grand Final spot.

Yesterday, we have witnessed a lot, I mean, a hell of lot of shocking upsets in the tournament.

So, let's recap what happened yesterday

• MYM crashed out from the group stage after placed 3rd in the group stage. They lost their 1st match against INC.Excello, but managed to regain their composure by beating PMS|Asterisk and SINO. The odds are favoring MYM in the last match but FTZ Asia pulls the biggest takedown of the century when MYM succumbs down to FTZ Asia
• Kingsurf gains their ESWC 2008 revenge and gain the upper hand on AEON-KS saga after they beat AEON.SG in a tightly contested match-up last night. Defeat would see AEON.SG playing against StarsBoba for the 7th & 8th placing
• It's Malaysia versus China affair, similar to the rivalry of Datuk Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan, but this time it's E-sports DotA. Who would reign supreme?
